Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Horsepower Autocare strives to use all the forms of recycling that are available to an automotive garage. Here are some of the ways:

• We recycle motor and transmission fluids by burning them in a special furnace for heat.
• Anti-freeze is taken away to be recycled.
• Batteries are sent back to the supplier to be recycled.
• All our discarded parts are either sent back to be rebuilt or recycled at the metal recycler.
• We also reuse newspapers for absorbing spills.
• Tires are picked up by an EPA licensed hauler and some are ground up and mixed with asphalt.
• Our parts washer is a Cuda Aqueous parts washing system that puts no materials into the waste stream.

By participating in town recycling programs, we have reduced our waste stream by 60%. We feel we are a "Green Garage" and do our best to be environmentally friendly. Our owner, Bob, has worked hard for 40 years to be on the forefront of recycling and cleaning methods used in this industry.
